Grooming

We are able to recommend several local groomers, whom we take our pets to. We encourage owners who are unable to keep up with the daily or weekly demands of some of the more densely coated breeds to develop a relationship with a groomer of your pet’s choice to help give you a hand with keeping the coat in a manageable state. Some long haired breeds can require daily brushing, and without the extra time a considerable volume of matts can quickly get out of hand!

A matted pet can quickly become a target for flies in the summer months. Remember also that an “unkept” animal may be a sign that the animal is not well and should be examined by one of our veterinarians. Cats will noticeably stop taking care of their coats when they are feeling unwell or are dealing with an illness.
